I took Amikacin via PICC for 6 weeks 3 - 4 x a week at the beginning of my treatment and then for another 4 weeks or so toward toward the end because they were thinking of surgery. I was petrified of the PICC line having never had any kind of surgery or invasive treatments. The first time it was put in the procedure was very uncomfortable but I think they had some issues getting it in. The second time was pretty much a breeze.
